After graduating in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) in Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Stuart spent 3 years developing software for Shell. He then worked in New Zealand on web software solutions for 6 months and upon his return spent a year developing software for blue chip companies in Birmingham. In 2002 Stuart joined The Priory Partnership and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006. He was appointed a director in 2009 and his specialities include accounts, management information, projections, ad hoc data investigation/reporting, Sage Line 50, audit and due diligence.

Outside work:

Stuart is married with 3 young children; he enjoys playing golf and is treasurer for a local society.

Mike qualified in 1975 whilst working for what is now KPMG. He joined the Vestey Group as Internal Audit Manager, which involved extensive travel throughout Europe and returned to the profession in 1979, becoming a partner in 1980. Mike deals with all aspects of our client sector and has a direct responsibility for our Tax Department.

Outside work:

Mike is married to Carol, with three children (each born in a different decade, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s). He is an enthusiastic, but not yet competent golfer and a Blue Nose holding a season ticket for Everton Football Club.

Andrew qualified as a chartered accountant in 1990 with Henry R Davis & Co and became a partner in 1995. After the amalgamation with The Priory Partnership in 2002, in which he became a partner, Andrew assumed the main responsibility for our Chester office. He acts for a wide range of clients and specialises in providing accountancy and tax planning services.

Outside work:

Andrew has two children and enjoys most sports, being a keen tennis and squash enthusiast, playing both sports for local teams.

Mike studied Financial Services at Sheffield Hallam University and his degree entailed a year of work experience during which he worked for Stubbs Parkin Cotter, one of the firms which merged to form The Priory Partnership. After completing his degree he came back to The Priory where he began his training to become a Chartered Accountant in September 1997. Mike qualified as an ACA in September 2001 and was admitted to ICAEW in November 2001. His specialisms are corporate taxation and company accounts disclosure.  Mike was appointed as director in April 2007.

Outside work:

Mike is married to Vicky and has a daughter, Katie and a son Demetrios. Mike enjoys playing tennis and snooker and also enjoys reading.

Senior Accounts Manager, Birkenhead

Paul started professional life in 1965 in a small market town practice in Suffolk. He moved to London in 1970 to gain wider experience, qualifying in 1974. He worked for various small and medium sized London firms before starting his own small practice in 1980. After relocating to the Northwest in 1996, he joined The Priory Partnership in July of that year. Paul now specialises in accounting and auditing, particularly in the small business sector.

Outside work:

Paul lives in Ashton-in-Makerfield with his partner, Sue. Much time is taken up with house and garden and DIY improvements. He enjoys reading (although he has little time for that!), sport and is particularly interested in the history of transport in the UK.

Accounts Manager, Chester

Specialisms:

After leaving grammar school in 1972, Ian joined Henry R Davis & Co as an articled clerk. He part qualified as a Chartered Accountant and was one of the first members of the Association of Accounting Technicians when it was formed in 1980. He is also a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. Ian is experienced in all aspects of small and medium business accounts and taxation, especially with regards to the agricultural community.

Outside work:

Ian lives on the outskirts of Chester and considers himself to be a true Cestrian as he was born within the city walls. He is a keen motorcyclist and has recently acquired his second Harley Davidson – a 2008 Road King Anniversary model, on which he hopes to tour Europe during 2008 and subsequent years.

Accounts Manager, Birkenhead

After leaving university Keri trained with the Liverpool office of a national firm of Chartered Accountants and qualified in 1979. Two years later Keri joined Hirst Alderson which subsequently merged to form the Priory Partnership. Keri's role as manager of the accounts department involves accountancy and taxation matters of sole trades, partnerships, small limited companies and some charities, and dealing with Inland Revenue tax enquiries.

Outside work:

Keri is on the church council, has been treasurer of his local parish church for some years and sings tenor in the choir. A season ticket at Anfield provides some entertainment. At home he likes to maintain the garden and enjoys DIY.

Senior Tax Manager, Birkenhead

Steve has worked in taxation for nearly twenty years. He joined the Inland Revenue when he was nineteen on a self-employed section. He then joined Stubbs Parkin Cotter (who subsequently merged to become The Priory Partnership) in 1992. Steve qualified and became a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 1999. He deals with all aspects of direct taxation compliance and advises clients on tax mitigation.

Outside work:

Steve is married to Diane and has two children, Jenny and John. They now live in a village called Silverdale, which is on the North Lancs / Cumbria border. Steve's hobbies include playing golf, badminton, football, and in the summer, he wicket-keeps for Silverdale Cricket Club. He also enjoys hill walking with his family.

HR Advice & Business Development, Birkenhead

Specialisms:

After graduating from Lancaster University in 2002 and travelling, Amy joined The Priory as business development advisor. Her role is concerned with helping clients obtain funding for their businesses, writing business plans and giving HR advice. Amy is also the presenter of the monthly business club (BBF) and the annual networking event.  Amy is an associate member of the CIPD, holding a certificate in employee relations, law and practice.

Outside work:

Amy enjoys reading, cooking and is a champion extreme mini-golfer.

Jacqui joined Stubbs Parkin Cotter, one of the original 4 firms that merged to become The Priory Partnership, in 1985. She has worked in The Priory tax department for over 10 years and is now a fully qualified member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. In her subsequent promotion to Tax Manager, Jacqui has responsibility for direct taxation compliance and advises clients on tax mitigation.

Outside work:

Jacqui lives locally with her husband Dean and two children, Lee and Holly. She enjoys reading, long walks and spending time with her family.
